What is organisation development?

OD is about improving your organisation's overall effectiveness through carefully balancing the intricacies of people & process.  In practice, this may involve different areas and as such it can look different one company to another.  And that's because every company is different.  Just like every individual has different stories, each company as a collective of individual stories have a distinct story and culture.    


In summary,    

  • OD is strategic, analytic and personal
  • OD involves working with individuals, groups and data
  • OD is informed by behavioural science knowledge & complexity science which helps us to understand how individuals and organisations really work 


At its heart, organisation development is about navigating changes to improve effectiveness by working in partnership across a whole system,


where change is considered as any disruption of a repeated pattern of thinking, feeling or behaviour.
